I know that trade is generally down at this time of year but business at the Bistro is booming at the moment. Not taking into account are Christmas and New Years Eve trade we have had are 2 best days ever in January. Obviously this is fantastic but the most satisfying aspect is that are customers all seemed to leave extremely happy and the staff, particularly in the kitchen coped wonderfully well.
Two key people need to be particularly mentioned; Head Chef/Manager Richard Norden, who has been with me in various establishments over the last 30 years, still manages to combine the highest level of professionalism together with a cool, calm personality and sense of humour that keeps everyone in the right frame of mind. His food is second to none – most certainly the best Head Chef in Cambridge.
Front of House we have Charlotte Turner whose bubbly personality is an absolute joy to customers and colleagues alike. Everything would seem to come easy to Charlotte but at 22 years of age her level of efficiency and her organisational abilities are astounding.
It really is a joy and a privilege to work with these people.
